Frequently Asked Questions

  1. 1
    What's the process?
Our 1:1 bike program begins with a standardized bike and recreation therapy assessment. Using the Comprehensive Evaluation in Recreation Therapy, we determine program placement—participants are then matched with either 1:1 or group bike sessions based on their score.
  2. 2
    What happens during sessions?
Therapy sessions are tailored to each client's goals and needs. We typically begin with a high-energy sensory activity, followed by targeted therapy and bike skill exercises. Staff adjust activities or provide breaks as needed to support each individual in the moment.
  3. 3
Should I bring my own bike?
No need to bring a bike—we’ll have a variety available to try, including two-wheel bikes, tricycles of all sizes, recumbent bikes, and bikes with fat wheels. If you'd prefer to use your own, just let us know and we’ll make arrangements.
  4. 4
    How many sessions are there?
Session frequency is based on each individual's progress. Goals are personalized and adjusted as they’re achieved to meet each participant’s unique needs.
  5. 5
    What should I Bring?
Please bring water and wear comfortable clothing. We have helmets available, but if you would like to bring your own helmet you can.
