Overview
Families and participants are invited to meet up and move through the Cleveland Metroparks, exploring trails and making meaningful connections along the way! Typically an 'out-and-back' hike, our FREE Hiking Club meets for an hour and is designed to meet the needs of all ability levels for ages 7+. Questions about Hiking Club? We recognize that program costs can be a barrier for some families. That's why we accept a variety of funding sources—and each year, we offer financial assistance through the Eileen Hewitt Scholarship Fund to support access to Rec2Connect programs. For more information click HERE.
- 1What's the weather policy?
Hiking Club will be cancelled if the air temp is below 25*, a tornado or storm weather alert is issued from the National Weather Service, a heat advisory is in effect or there is an air quality alert. Hiking Club may also be cancelled if poor road conditions are reported, park facilities, trails, or shelters are closed due to poor conditions. Those enrolled will be notified by the night prior for any hike cancellations. - 2What should I wear/bring?
Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you can walk in. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended. A water bottle may also be helpful. - 3What's the cancellation policy?
If you cancel 24 hours in advance, there is no fee and no charge. If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, there is a full charge for the class. - 4Who can attend?
Optional attendance for parents/caregivers. Hiking Club is designed for ages 7+.
