Overview
Pedal Power is an indoor stationary bike riding class that will work on bike riding skills, balance, strength, endurance and motor planning. This 45-minute weekly class is where participants will utilize spinning bikes as well as other equipment for a cardiovascular workout. Pedal Power is perfect for bike riders who want to practice their skills through the winter.

We recognize that program costs can be a barrier for some families. That's why we accept a variety of funding sources—and each year, we offer financial assistance through the Eileen Hewitt Scholarship Fund to support access to Rec2Connect programs. For more information click HERE
- 1Who can attend?
Pedal Power is for ages 13+. - 2What's the enrollment policy?
Bulk enroll: This means you will be automatically registered for a program each week. Please note, if there is a week that your loved one will not be able to attend you must email scheduling@rec2connect.org 24 hours in advance to cancel or you will be charged for the class.
Weekly enrollments: If you prefer to register for individual sessions, you can register by emailing scheduling@rec2connect.org the dates you would like to register for in advance. Please note, we DO have a capacity limit for our group classes and if you wait until the day-of to register you may run the risk of not having space for your loved one to participate. If you do need to cancel unexpectedly less than 24 hours in advance, you will be charged the price of the class. - 3What are the expectations for the group?
Follow directions from group facilitator and support staff, Remain in teaching area or communicate when a break is needed, Manage behaviors through session with minimal redirection, Be able to participate in the duration of group without needing assistance toileting. After attending for the first time, our staff will complete a Group Expectations Checklist to determine if a participant is able to participate independently or if other supports may be needed. The Director of Programming will contact the family about next steps if needed.. - 4What should I wear or bring?
Wear comfortable athletic clothes and shoes. Bring a water bottle or towel, though the groups will take breaks and have the opportunity to use a water fountain. - 5What if I need a 1:1 aide? What is the protocol?
We have many options! We offer 1:1 programming in groups with our staff or a caregiver. We also offer out of group 1:1 programming if our team determines that is the best fit.
